In this final episode of our incredible motorcycle journey through Northern Norway and Sweden, we begin in Bodø and head south, closing the loop on an unforgettable adventure. We visit the, Saltstraumen, the world’s strongest tidal current and send the drone up for some great aerial views of this natural phenomenon. From a distance, we spot the Svartisen glacier (which is actually two glaciers) before crossing the Arctic Circle one last time — this time by ferry. As we return to Sweden we wild camp near a Sámi seasonal settlement, visit the beautiful Trappstegsforsen and send up the drone again, and continue along the unforgettable Vildmarksvägen/The Wilderness Road, stop at historic Fatmomakke and get an areal shot with the drone, and continue to the windswept Stekenjokk Plateau which is partly closed in the winter due to lots, lots of snow. After this we take some days in the cabin for Jeanette to get better from her stomach bug and then finally we head home and make a summary of all the kilometers and days spend on the road! #MotorcycleAdventure #BMWGSA1250 #ArcticRide
Primošten, Croatia, is a hidden gem nestled along the Adriatic coast. Let me share some captivating details about this picturesque town: Historic Old Town: Primošten’s old town is perched on a peninsula that was originally an island. The island’s teardrop shape looks barely connected to the mainland. As you approach Primošten, you’ll see the Church of St. George atop the hill—a sight to behold! 🏰 Beaches: Primošten boasts stunning beaches. Mala Raduča Beach, in particular, has been recognized as one of Croatia’s top 10 beaches. Crystal-clear waters and golden sands await! 🌊☀️ Fascinating History: About five centuries ago, residents fled from the Turks and settled on the nearby island of Gola Glava. They built a wooden bridge, which they raised during times of danger. Hence, the town’s name: Primošten, meaning “bridged over.” 🌉 Our Lady of Loretto: Primošten is home to one of the world’s tallest statues of the Virgin Mary. The 17-meter-high monument, Our Lady of Loretto, is said to be visible from the Italian coast. A visit here is a must! 🙏 Charming Mix: Primošten blends historical architecture with beautiful beaches. Velika Raduča Beach and the islet of Smokvica offer idyllic spots to soak up the sun. 🏖️ Whether you’re exploring the stone houses, dining at local restaurants, or simply enjoying the coastal breeze, Primošten promises an unforgettable experience. 🇭🇷✨
