Antoine Albeau smashed it and set a new windsurfing speed record of 53.49 knots in 40-45 knots of wind, beating his previous record of 53.27 knots. . Gunnar Asmussen set a new German Speed record (52.69 kts) . Brendan Lorhose set a U21 World Record (50.62) . Jenna Gibson set a new women´s World Record (48.03). . A dear friend (also sailor) Jean-Maurice was battling last stages of cancer. He's got the sailing bug. Sailed this passage before on a Class 40. I sent him this short of myself back in January 2010 when solo-sailing the North Atlantic from Las Palmas, Canary Islands to Mindelo, Cabo Verde.
