A Boat trip on one of our catamarans is one of the most exciting things to do in Knysna, while your are on holiday or workcation. Ocean Sailing Charters and Boat Trips is a family owned and operated business, with a team of passionate people who have brought together our love for travel, fun, sailing, good food and wine! Enjoy a magical sail on the Knysna lagoon, discover the Knysna Heads and explore the Indian Ocean. Once we set sail you can enjoy supping, fishing, swimming or snorkeling depending on the duration of your cruise. Sit back while we treat you to a glass of ice-cold bubbly on the most luxurious Catamarans in the Garden Route, while you keep an eye out for playful seals and dolphins. There is nothing that makes you feel more alive than breathing in the fresh ocean air while gazing out over the blue horizon with the African sun on your skin. Step into our world and discover the difference. Valid until Mid-August 2022. Ts and Cs apply. Video Productions: http://ascendadvertising.co.za/
Our first washing day since we connected the first solar panels :-) We have ended with more in the batteries than we started the day despite multiple loads of washing and spin drying, doing the washing up (between them and drinks boiling the kettle on the induction hob at least 6 times), and running my computer (mini desktop with 40" screen). We are now living aboard our Rival 38 Centre Cockpit full-time while finishing a refit so we can launch ASAP. We have a frequently updated blog at https://sustainablesailing.net with membership options and a weekly newsletter at £2 per month for Early Bird Supporters. Our free Sustainable Sailing book is at: https://sustainablesailing.codeberg.p... Or visit our shop at https://sustainablesailing.teemill.com/ for great hoodies, t-shirts and bags. When we bought Vida in August 2019 she was in a very tired and damp condition with all original equipment and fittings (much of it not working). We have removed all the gas, diesel and paraffin equipment, and are installing all-electric (motor, cooking etc). Whether you were looking at the front or the back of the fleet, the Indian Ocean showed its teeth this week. A series of major low pressure systems were piling on the pressure for all, both mentally and physically. From damaged gear to broken boats, this was a week where the conditions were intimidating as the strong winds and wild sea state took their toll. But this is still a race and key tactical decisions needed to be made. And despite the intimidating conditions, the front runners made some punchy , high risk calls. This was a week of broken boats, big gambles and extraordinary tactics.
