Quick test of a tiny QEV cannon firing air at 12atm, viewed through a Schlieren setup (no razor blade). Unedited at normal speed. I didn't quite understood the need for a razor blade but without one I still see the flow of air. For me, the razor blade just makes the dot of light smaller(?) If anyone can clarify me what the razor blade really does and where it should be placed (in the source of light or in the camera) I'd really appreciate. Also important to note that this is AWESOME to look with the naked eye but almost the dimmest light can blind you. I covered a tiny LED torch with aluminum foil and punctured a hole with a sewing needle, on the side! so that the LED doesn't bright directly through the hole. Take care with the eyes!!

A rogue wave from a different direction to the general wave train hits my boat while hove to (not sailing) in a storm, 100 miles off the Australian coast on passage from New Caledonia to Brisbane in November 2017. This was during my single-handed sailing circumnavigation in Fathom, my Vancouver 28. The tiller is not lashed completely to leeward as I was experimenting in keeping some way on. Conditions improved enough after 3 days that I was able to start sailing again and safely make landfall. If I had tried to close on the coast in these conditions it could have been a disaster in the shallow water and even bigger breaking waves found in the South Australian Current (another solo sailor was rescued at the time). In questo lunedì di Pasquetta noi non abbiamo festeggiato con una grigliata, bensì con una bella camminata! Aaaaaaah ci voleva proprio. Sentire i muscoli girare a pieno regime, dopo settimane di inattività da lavoro al pc. Che bello ❤️ Finiremo la giornata con una coccola al bar della marina, mentre al pc nasceranno nuove parole e un nuovo bellissimo progetto✨ A domani!
