Most are in need of major tlc or a refit and some are too far gone and only good for salvage. An abandoned vessel could have document issues. Be cautious of private sales and gypsy brokers, as in Mexico bad documentations such as multiple Temporary Import Permits or that are expired, passed on with questionable Captain's letters etc. can get your vessel seized by the Mex Navy or worse.
