In the 2023 Rolex Fastnet Race, Stormvogel claimed 6th in IRC Zero (and placed 11th overall in IRC) from a massive field of 358 starters. Launched in 1961, Stormvogel was one of the world's first lightweight maxis-designed by Van de Stadt, with input from Laurent Giles-and built of cold-moulded wood. SW100X Seaside Lounge represents one of the main innovation of the project. In response to a demand for larger swim platforms and more versatile use of the aft deck, Southern Wind developed in collaboration with Nauta a new system that creates a 20.2 sqm beach club in the aft cockpit linked directly to the enlarged swim platform and to the sea below. The beach club can be configurated to accommodate a variety needs and purposes, offering large sunbeds, L-shaped settees, or transformable coffee tables.
