Nick organised everything with the brokers and the charter companies and the people on the ground to go see the boats. In one trip he stopped at three different marinas and basically in a weekend he had shown me, took video tours of the boats. Very thorough went through every compartment with me taking videos. Showed everything. I felt like I knew the boat before I even showed up after we made the decision. The drone shots of the rigging were fantastic. We nixed one boat right off the top. Just wasn't interested in it. Too much, too much going on with it. And then it was a real close tie between the two remaining boats. Gibraltar is BY FAR, one of the MOST INTERESTING places we've ever sailed to. Inside and around the Rock of Gibraltar are so many historic war tunnels, that it's almost impossible not to feel captured by the spirit of adventure. One of the best places we visited was the Northern Defences, a series of World War and 1700s military tunnels and ruins that speak to the history of this small but proud British territory. In the process of being cleaned up and restored, we visited at a time when it was free and almost deserted, making it an experience we'll never forget.
