In this video we’re sailing upwind in 35+ knots of breeze in Johnstone Strait during the VanIsle360 race with a double-reefed main sail and storm jib. A crew member is on the foredeck securing the #3 jib we had previously been flying in the short video https://youtube.com/shorts/VRAEp8M49Y4, but ripped in half. The head literally ripped right off. He is wearing a harness and tether! The sky is completely blue, but everybody is still completely soaked from the spray. Lots of sails were destroyed in that leg, including the #3 jib that is now on the foredeck. Brand-new state-of-the-art toilets and showers are now officially open at our Hamble Point Marina on the River Hamble. This major upgrade is part of a wider £1.2 million investment in the marina, with £500,000 dedicated specifically to transforming the washroom facilities. And there’s more to come! Work is currently underway on the redevelopment of the marina office, set to open this summer. The new space will feature a welcoming reception, a small essentials store for refreshments and supplies, and 24/7 access to the new facilities directly through the office.
