The Southern Cross 28 we checked out has a nearly brand new Yanmar diesel in it! That's amazing. A new diesel, installed on a boat this size, will set you back $25k. In other words, someone has done the expensive work for you! Look for boats like this if you're in the market!

Initially, we had planned to keep Hawila’s stern intact as it appeared healthy and had received massive work in the 90s. However, things are not always as they appear on wooden ships, and while trying to fit our beam shelves aft we realised the poor condition of the upper stern frames particularly. To make a good connection we now have to replace the stern frames which means that eventually nearly all ship’s timber will be replaced. Vulkan bestigning part 1 🌋 På denne skønne dag stod vi op kl. 04.30 for at stå op sammen med solen. Google anmeldelserne sagde det kunne blive rigtig varmt i dagstimerne, så pga. vovserne gjorde vi det til en morgentur. Det var fandme også en god idé! ✨ Sindssygt flot ✨ Vulkanen her var fuld af svovl og gasser, så man skulle holde behørig afstand. Vovserne løb frem og tilbage og har nok nærmest besteget den 4 gange. #eventyr #sejlads #jordomsejling #vulkan #liveaboard
