Is it safe to sail in a deep canyon? Sure! If you watch the wind and weather closely, have the right equipment, and familiarize yourself with how mountainous terrain affects the wind. The Nav station has been extended into the salon by about 4 inches (100mm) which allows some additional area to be opened up for electrical components.
