In this video we show how to stop leech flutter in a genoa by tightening the leech line. The tightening mechanism may vary from sail to sail, but the principle is the same. Tighten the leech line until the sail stops fluttering, but not so much as to cause a hook in the leech. When we were invited to race on a Volvo Ocean 70 for the Halicarnassus Cup in Turkiye, we knew we would be in for a day of adventure. What we did not expect was for the spinnaker to blow on us as we were cruising downwind at 15 knots! It's a good thing our crew jumped into action right away, and we were all able to work together ro get it under control.
