Our latest OH CRAP moment hit us when a violent squall appeared out of nowhere in the darkness smashing our boat from the complete opposite wind direction, tearing our mainsail free of the boom allowing it to flap crazily amongst the rigging in the middle of a busy shipping lane. In treacherous conditions on deck, it had to be secured fast before it tore itself to pieces. This van can only hold about 11 gallons of fuel in its tank, which is why we brought 2 spare cans. I thought finding diesel would be more of an issue, but there were enough fuel stations to never even need the emergency stash.
