Back to boat work! This time, we're tackling some fiberglass work to fix up the bulkhead aboard our sailboat that's already had two warranty repair attempts. As always our boat dog Rose finds a way to be in the way - good thing she's cute! After backpacking Asia, road tripping Europe and doing a bit of van life, we’re now exploring the world aboard our Leopard 45 catamaran. THIS BOAT SHOULDN’T BE THERE 😳🌊 A catamaran trapped in a brutal storm — filmed from far away on a phone. Waves rising. Wind screaming. No escape in sight. Would you keep sailing… or pray? 👀👇 #StormAtSea #Catamaran #SailingDanger #OceanStorm #RealFootage #MobileShot #BoatLife #SeaChaos

We caught up with Team Loustic SuperSonic waiting out the weather at the John Wayne Marina. They told us all about their hull and deck coming apart. The deck is attached with pop rivets and many of them failed along one side for about two meters of the seam—when they realized the boat was acting sluggish, they looked inside to see at certain tacks, waves of water coming in filling the boat with about 100 gallos of water. They have since repaired it quite nicely and they're drying off all their gear, ready to go on. The boat otherwise handled really well.
