Welcome to Day 2 of our Christmas calendar! 🎄 Today, we’re diving into the galley—our compact yet highly functional kitchen on Vela. ⛵ Placed on the starboard side, just behind the nav station, our galley is designed for safety and efficiency: ✨ Longitudinal layout ensures we can cook securely even when the boat heels. ❄️ Big fridge and freezer for all our provisions. 🔥 Gas stove for cooking up delicious meals, even mid-passage. 💦 Double sink with 3 water outlets: Pressurized fresh water (hot/cold) Manual fresh water pump Manual saltwater pump (great for rinsing without wasting fresh water). On the opposite side, we have a spacious prepping area, and while we once had a microwave, we’ve replaced it with storage and an espresso machine—because we appreciate a good cup of coffee! ☕ What would you cook in this galley? RSHYR 2024 | Race Start – Under 50’ Fleet. An important part of our coverage of the event every year is trying to ensure that we talk to and capture as many of the fleet as possible on the docks, the chopper and our camera boats at the start of the race. This year we counted over 43 of the sub 50 footers that made it into our video.
