I'm putting together a series of one minute short films, whilst I work on a bigger project on my local foxes. This first one minute short is about my local moor and a lovely young Roe Deer. Goss Moor is the largest remaining area of mid-Cornwall moorland and is a National Nature Reserve with a multi-use trail. The mostly flat valley basin is the source of the River Fal. A designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Special Area of Conservation, the reserve is home to many rare species including Cornish Moneywort, yellow Centaury, Cornish Pillwort, marsh Clubmoss, small red damselfly, variable damselfly and the marsh Fritillary butterfly.

A chicken gybe is a safer alternative to a normal gybe, especially in strong wind. Instead of turning the stern through the wind and letting the boom swing across the boat, you turn the bow through the wind in a full tack. You then continue turning until you are sailing on the opposite broad reach. It achieves the same change of course while avoiding the violent boom movement and heavy loads of a conventional gybe. #sailing #sailingschool #sailboat #sailor
