En todas las zonas costeras existe un faro, un cabo o una zona que es conocida como peligrosa para la navegación o es la barrera o frontera entre la zona tranquila de navegación y la zona expuesta al mar. Los coruñeses, por ejemplo. tienen una frase que dice "se pasas a Marola, pasas a mar toda" Y es que cualquier navegante de esta zona sabe que a partir de esa zona estás totalmente expuesto al mar. Para los vigueses, esta zona es la Costa de la Vela. Es la costa exterior de la península del Morrazo y une el Cabo Home, salida de la Ría de Vigo con la Punta Couso, comienzo de la ría de Aldán. Esta costa de la Vela, está expuesta a los temporales gallegos. Las olas chocan en su orilla y rebotan. El navegante que se acerque tendrá olas provinientes de todas partes, siendo esta navegación bastante incómoda y terrorífica para el navegante inexperto. The RORC Griffin Team flies around Giraglia! Congratulations to the RORC Griffin Team of Lydia Barber & Josh Dawson for taking runner up in the Eurosaf Mixed Offshore European Championship. Racing in a Figaro 3 provided to the RORC as wild card entry with a free charter and regatta entry. The European Championship is part of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour. The RORC team of Lydia Barber & Josh Dawson racing San Marco was just under two hours behind the winning Team Anemos sailed by Roberta Fazzana & Andrea Caracci. The RORC Team raced from La Spezia to Genoa via the Giraglia Rock in an elapsed time of 2 days 11 hrs 25 mins 5 secs. Lydia and Josh had a terrific battle at the front of the fleet with just 12 minutes separating second from fourth in a race of nearly two and half days. “Super happy to hold on and finish second in the EUROSAF mixed double handed European Championships!” commented Josh Dawson. “The race was very challenging with every possible set of conditions. We had plenty of drifting, some lightning storms and a fun 25knt blast around Giraglia! “We had a good start and built a five mile lead on Leg One before getting shut down and overtaken behind Elba. The race compressed at the half way point and we then bounced around the top three positions for the rest of the race. Coming into the last 20 miles, we had a small lead in second and tried to hold on through the final shut downs off Genoa. The top four all finished within an hour after 2 and a half days of tight racing. Overall, it has been a great week in Italy!!! Thank you to RORC and the Nastro Rosa tour for the wild card entry.”

The BGM75, from BlueGame, is a new luxury motor yacht from the Italian manufacturer. M stands for multihull, but this is a catamaran with a difference: the ratio between beam and length is closer to a monohull. ▫️ ➡️ Renders from Blue Game Yachts ▫️ She is first and foremost a luxurious, motor yacht that has two hulls, not one, but from some angles you wouldn't realise. This has allowed the designers to configure the area between the two hulls as a single space like a monohull allowing for a huge full beam owner’s cabin. ▫️ From the stern, she looks like an elegant and balanced monohull and the space between the two hulls conceals a garage for the tender.
