When sailing through a channel that splits, knowing which way to go is critical. That’s where preferred channel markers come in. These buoys are marked with both red and green colors, with one color dominant — showing which side of the channel is preferred. 🌍 Region A: Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, the Gulf, and some Asian countries 🌏 Region B: North, Central & South America, Japan, North & South Korea, and the Philippines In Region A, “green to starboard” keeps you safe. In Region B, remember “Red Right Returning.” Understanding these rules helps beginner sailors avoid confusion and navigate safely. 🔗 More sailing tips, cheat sheets & free downloads here: [bit.ly/LatestCheats] 👉 Watch our full sailing guide: https://youtu.be/30csRFMZh24 ⚓ Subscribe for more beginner sailing tutorials, navigation tips, and how-to guides to help you sail with confidence.
Craziest experience of my life, says Runa Aasheim. Being face to face with orcas was more powerful than I ever imagined. Runa joined us for a week on board Valiente, freediving with orcas and whales. It was a good week, with saling, northern lights and freediving.
