This new brand of powered trimarans called LEEN (a clever reflection of Neel, being named after the owner and founder of the yard, Eric Bruneel). The first model launched (before the 72 and now the very new the 51) is therefore the LEEN 56, characterized by the two floats significantly shorter at the bows compared to the central hull, and by a platform of large surface-area, topped by an imposing flybridge. The advantage of these new ocean-going multihulls is their very low drag: consumption will be limited to 2 liters (just over ½ US gal) per mile at cruising speed (9 knots). The diesel engine in the central hull can be supported by two electric pods - one in each hull - to facilitate maneuvering in port and for leaving an anchorage with the greatest discretion. Vi tog jollen in till den lilla byn Hakaui på Nuku Hiva. Här bor bara ett tiotal familjer och den enda vägen hit är via havet, de branta bergsväggarna gör att det inte finns någon väg. Vi passade på att köpa med oss frukt. Vi beställde en klase gröna bananer, en klase mogna bananer och fem pomelos. Men när vi skulle betala log hon bara och gav oss ytterligare en klase gröna bananer och fem pomelos. Totalt fick vi 60 bananer och 10 pomelos för 110 kronor. 🍌😍 Tidigare i veckan hade vi träffat en kvinna på stranden, och när vi senare gick förbi hennes hus vinkade hon in oss. Hon bjöd hela familjen på bananer direkt från trädgården, och Erik hade turen att få en tvillingbanan. Det blev dagens stora höjdpunkt för en fyraåring. 🥹🍌 Det känns svårt att hitta mer lokalproducerad mat än så här. 🌿 Det finaste var ändå inte frukten, utan värmen vi möttes av. De tackade oss för att vi besökte deras by, trots att det egentligen är vi som borde tacka dem för deras generositet och gästfrihet. ❤️ Det är sådana här möten som gör resan oförglömlig. Vi kommer nog minnas människorna vi mött längre än platserna vi sett. Vilket möte med en annan människa har du burit med dig länge?
