On Saturday, 5 August. Perini Navi launched the S/Y Seven. The 60m aluminium ketch is the 62nd Perini Navi yacht to be built and the third in the successful 60m series which also includes S/Y Seahawk and S/Y Perseus^3.

When a ship anchors, the anchor isn't what holds it. The chain does. The crew lets out several times more chain than the water is deep. Most of it lies along the seabed in a heavy curve. That weight absorbs the ship's pull and keeps the pull on the anchor horizontal, so the flukes dig in deeper. If the chain is too short, the pull turns upward. The anchor breaks out of the seabed and the ship starts to drag. In a storm, that's how ships end up on the beach. That's why, when the wind rises, the crew lets out more chain.
