► Following the Moon 60 Sail, an ultra-comfortable catamaran that was offered a year ago, the Polish boatbuilder has announced a power version that’s based on the same platform. With XXL freeboard and generous superstructures, it’s a real villa on the water, not dissimilar in spirit to the Supreme range from Sunreef. The first plans to be released show appendages identical to those on the sail version, and the specifications given by the manufacturer on its website are those of the sailing version, with a draft of 5’11” (1.8 m). With over 100 boats on the start line everyone was fighting for air shortly after the start, with the tide coming in all day it paid to get right early to find both clear air and some relief from the stronger tide out in the main channel. On the way back in the trick was to find the deepest part of the channel to ensure you were in maximum tide to increase your speed over ground. Things were still tight as we made it down to the Harbour Turning mark off Cork City.
