These jellies have been isolated in rare saltwater lakes and lost their sting due to the absence of predators! We call them farmers because they farm zooxanthellae (tiny marine animals) that turn sunlight into food. They obtain about 70% of their food from the sun and the remainder using very specialized, weak harpoon cells along their graceful, flowing arms.
