S'il est, pour cet usage, moins facile à dénouer en cas de forte chute que le nœud de chaise (complété par un demi nœud de pêcheur simple — ou double — pour éviter qu'il ne se desserre), le nœud en huit s'avère plus simple à réaliser et à vérifier.
