The Spirit of Dana Point is a traditionally built replica of a 1770's privateer schooner used throughout the American Revolution. The ship is 118 feet in length with a rig height of 100 feet and almost 5,000 square feet of sail. On this day, while racing in the Dana Point Harbor Championships, the Spirit of Dana Point was out in 12-14 knots of true wind with gusts to 20 knots! It currently resides at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point, CA.
