Since undertaking the major reframing operation whilst on the slipway, we have now relaunched Hawila and are very happy to be afloat once again! The planks have been slowly taking up and the seams are now tight. We have been busy fairing the inside of the frames to accept the ceiling planks and bilge stringers, which will help to produce the rigidity of the ship fore and aft. Fairing is to shape the frames by planing and sanding to produce a fair and even curve and allows us to fasten the ceiling plank tightly to the surface of the frames. Having completed the fairing in the bow, our team wasted no time in hanging the first ceiling plank. The oak plank is steamed for two hours to make it sufficiently pliable so that it can be bent into shape and fastened to the frames. Once fixed, it adds rigidity to the fore and aft strength of the ship. Bonjour et bonne année à tous. Toute l’équipe TRICAT se joint à moi pour vous annoncer notre récompense à l’élection européenne du bateau de l’année 2022 pour le Tricat 6.90, avec mention spéciale du jury pour la polyvalence. Cette élection très prestigieuse fait suite à une sélection sur l’eau durant 3 jours, ou chacun des 12 membres du jury représentant les 12 plus importantes revues nautiques européennes, testent à tour de rôle chaque bateau présélectionné. Le jury a trouvé que c'est le bateau le mieux adapté aux nouveaux propriétaires, étant simple, amusant et si flexible que vous pouvez le remorquer n'importe où en Europe. Nous sommes très honorés de cette récompense qui couronne 20 années de développement et de travail méthodique en Bretagne. Le TRICAT 6.90 est le fruit du mariage d’un programme polyvalent et d’une foule d’idées pratiques ou chaque membre de mon équipe a pu contribuer en apportant ses idées. Le public et la presse française nous avaient déjà bien montré leur intérêt et nous remercions tous les nouveaux ou futurs propriétaires du TRICAT 6.90. Nous remercions chaleureusement tous les membres du jury qui ont voté pour nous et félicitons les autres nominés concurrents pour leur prestation sur l’eau.
