We sold our dream home mid-pandemic and after moving 3 times in 3 months we landed aboard our Seawind 1600 catamaran Wanderlust. We are Kristin + Fabio Potenti and our lovely little French Bulldog Yoda is on board with us. This dream has been in the making for years and we're super excited that it's finally coming true! It's all a bit surreal. We're longing to explore the world by sea, learn about different cultures and eat delicious food everywhere we go. For now we're based in Ft. Lauderdale, FL due to travel restrictions, which is a great location to get accustomed to the boat. This is a short intro video to share who we are and why we sold our home and moved onto a catamaran. We'll be documenting our journey as we learn the ins and outs of boat life, sail the beautiful waters of South Florida and the Bahamas, and cook up a storm in our galley. We hope you'll come along for the ride. :) For real time updates follow us on Insta...https://www.instagram.com/harborsunknown/ Song is Weather Any Storm by Cody Francis from Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/track/RZI7R4iUkt
๐ชข Sunday Boat Tip [1/52] ๐ชข Did you know that you can use common cooking oil to keep your boat toiletโs flushing system smooth and easy flushing? Itโs really simple, you just take a tablespoon of the oil you have at hand and pour in into the toilet. Then, in empty mode, you pump a few pumps and then itโs done. Do this 1-2 times every week and youโll soon see a difference! The oil will keep all the internal rubber parts soft and prolong their life span, meaning less shitty maintenance for you ๐ฉ We usually do this in the evening so it can sit for the night ๐ด Extra tip: If you have canned food thatโs preserved in oil (like sun dried tomatoes or mushrooms) itโs perfect to use the oil thatโs left in the can before throwing it out. Be sure to save this post to remember it the next time you see your boat toilet ๐ฝ
