Au portant, le vol dynamique et non statique des ailles apportent un surcroit de puissance. Le catamaran est également doté de turbines biomimétiques de l’entreprise ADV Propulse. Ces dernières permettront de produire de l’électricité « sous kite » (600 W à 6 nœuds) et de propulser (2 x 15 kW en 48 V) le multicoque lorsque les conditions seront incompatibles avec l’envoi de l’aile. Des panneaux solaires sont également en place sur les trampolines, devant le bras avant. Le catamaran démarre donc sa deuxième carrière et devrait profiter des feux de la rampe – festival Win for Good à Saint-Nazaire, Jeux olympiques de 2024 à Marseille et départ du Vendée Globe aux Sables-d’Olonne. The marina takes on a different persona when the sun stays low and the cold winds start to blow. I went to check on “Moments in Time” during the winter solstice. The boats on the hard were whistling in the wind, the sounds of laughter and tinking of drinks from the pool area had long departed, droning of harbor traffic remained eerily silent, and the lapping of waves had become more pronounced.
