During those rare, uneventful passages—the ones where the boat behaves, the seas behave, and even the coffee behaves—you’d think a skipper could kick back, relax, and watch the world drift by. But no. The moment things get quiet, the skipper brain wakes up like a toddler at 3 a.m. and starts whispering, “Hey… did you notice that thing that needs fixing? And that other thing? And that other other thing?” Before you know it, the peaceful passage has turned into a floating scavenger hunt of future chores. That’s how every skipper’s “To Do” list is born. It starts the day you buy the boat and it will outlive you, your children, and possibly the boatyard itself. This was our short list of “Moments in Time” tasks waiting for us back in Solomons. The good news: we knocked out the whole list. The bad news: naturally, a brand new list immediately spawned in its place. On a boat, the To Do list is like a hydra—check off one item and two more grow back. But hey… that’s boating. And we wouldn’t trade it for anything. Subscribe and share in our adventure!
