Après plusieurs jours de calme, Dominique Wavre retrouve du vent et de la vitesse à bord de son Mirabaud. Le Vendée Globe 2012 est la course autour du monde en solitaire sans escale et sans assistance qui passe par les trois caps, le Cap de Bonne Espérance, le Cap Leeuwin et le Cap Horn. Le départ de la course est donné des Sables d'Olonne tous les quatre ans. Les éditions précédentes ont été remportées par Titouan Lamazou, Alain Gautier, Christophe Auguin, Michel Desjoyeaux et Vincent Riou. We even witnessed a procession passing by our catamaran in the harbor of Santurtzi. The saint of this city near Bilbao is Carmen and during the ‘Festival El Carmen’ Her Statue is carried from the church to the harbor. She is placed on a rowing boat, then the boat goes to the sea, seamen throw flowers in the sea and then returning again with the statue back to the harbor while the music is playing out of the harbor speakers. Impressive to watch this ceremony.
