At the request of Her Majesty's Coastguard, where possible, during daylight hours during the summer, leisure boaters in England should avoid using VHF channel 16 for routine radio checks. Instead, call one of the 56 lookout stations of the National Coastwatch Institution on VHF Ch 65. Other sailors advised us to visit the 2 islands below Cannes, because it was so idyllic. You would be very protected from wind and swell on the 'Plateau du milieu' = between the 2 islands, where it was only 3 meters deep and a good sandy bottom. in this crystal clear water the azure color of the Mediterranean Sea was clearly visible. It was indeed beautiful! Here's a movie filmed with a drone as we lay at anchor (thank you Marco Clazin!). You see, we weren't the only boat this summer ;)
