Because if the team's radical ideas work, the latest Ultim to be launched could mark a big leap forward when it comes to foiling in bigger sea states while raising the speed bar to well over 50 knots at the same time. Following our first glimpse of Gitana 18 earlier this year we get to understand more about a project that took 250,000 hours to design and build. Now we see the real thing in the open.

I can not believe this is the final step on replacing the rotten deck! I've made it! I am so excited, I waited for this day for such a long time. All the hard work, and finally the deck will get finished :) I know I know it's only a small part of the whole boat progress and there is still so much more work that needs to be done, the list is long: new bulwarks, sanding-welding-painting the rail, fiberglass repairs on the main cabin, fixing leaking hatches, installing one new hatch, repainting the whole boat, underwater repairs on the prop shaft once the boat gets lifted again, changing the switchboard for the electronics and so much more.
