A dear friend (also sailor) Jean-Maurice was battling last stages of cancer. He's got the sailing bug. Sailed this passage before on a Class 40. I sent him this short of myself back in January 2010 when solo-sailing the North Atlantic from Las Palmas, Canary Islands to Mindelo, Cabo Verde.

We never published it, but upon watching it, I found it quite interesting to see how a wildfire occurring thousands of miles away could affect us so profoundly.
