We're super excited to be a part of the @seakeepers research project mapping the ocean floor. We met the International Seakeepers Society at the Auckland Boat Show 2024 and when we heard about their various projects we asked if we could apply to join their research program of mapping the seafloor (which we did) and within a few days they sent us the logger and some other cool stuff free of charge. We look forward to sending them some data! We hope you enjoy it! As always, from the crew of Te T?iko, thanks for watching. Sincere thanks to Charlotte Rockstar Jones for composing and recording Te T?iko's theme song. Please remember to subscribe, like, comment - it helps us out! A nomadic duo who traded land life for a life on the water. Follow us to see what we see and what it's like living a nomadic lifestyle. Currently exploring New Zealand but a big adventure is coming soon! In December 2021, we moved aboard our sailboat Te T?iko, a Chico 40, and we have been fortunate to sail to many of New Zealand'sislands and anchorages. T?iko is our floating home. She gives us the freedom to go anywhere the wind and weather allows. Our plan? We try not to make too many plans but plan to do blue water cruising. Whilst sailing New Zealand's northern coastline, we're completing some maintenance work on T?iko and getting her ready to meet New Zealand's category 1 requirements. In the meantime, follow along with us as we navigate this lifestyle whilst sharpening our skills sailing New Zealand waters. #boatlife #boat #travelvlog #digitalnomad #lifestyle #sailing #travel #sailinglife

? Sunday Boat Tip [26/52] ? Are you team upwind or team downwind? Linnea was our first boat with a furling headsail and the natural way for us was to head upwind. It was always a hard job, and Marcus was the only one with enough strength to be able to furl it in even though we only had a small self-tacking jib. But then we got this advice and it was a game changer! The idea seems pretty obvious now, but we had just never considered it! Now handling the furler is an easy job, that we both can manage. Hope this will be of use for your boatlife too ?? Don't forget to save this post and share it with a friend who needs to see this to get inspired to create their own adventure ??
