Following the Captains of Industry Roundtable, guests gathered for the inaugural Compass Dinner at Ripples waterfront restaurant, Darling Harbour. A chance for our industry’s leaders to unwind, connect on a deeper level and share perspectives in a setting that felt intimate, warm and genuinely celebratory. The highlight of the evening was a captivating ‘fireside-style’ conversation between two exceptional Australians: Dr Daniel Nour, founder of Street Side Medics and the 2022 Young Australian of the Year, and pioneering explorer Mike McDowell, whose career has taken him from Antarctica to the Titanic. Their contrasting journeys – one rooted in compassion and community impact, the other in discovery, science and fearless exploration – offered guests a rare blend of inspiration and insight. Another special moment was the auction of a limited edition Seiko Prospex timepiece which raised $10,000 for the valuable work of the International SeaKeepers Society.
