As our Leopard 45 catamaran is lifted into the air and moved around on the hardstand our adventurous boat dog stays aboard! She is used to the boat being in motion, and loves nothing more than sailing around, watching dolphins and trying to figure out if they're friends or food 😂 Rose has been a liveaboard dog for 3+ years now, visiting 10+ countries across 3 continents. This video illustrates the force of the wind while on a close hauled/close reach with one reef in the main and 2/3 of the Genoa out in 17 knots of wind with 23 knot gusts. Our speed over ground last week ranged from a comfortable 6.5 knots to 12.5 knots. As you may know, the Lagoon 450 is well known for its capability to sail in low wind and down wind. We also realized the 450's ability to provide a controlled and comfortable “banging up wind” experience during our 21 day trip around the BVIs.
