An amazing sighting from the Freebird One, a humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae), which was beating its fins against the water, probably as a way of communicating with other whales. The humpback whales measure 16m and weigh 36 Tons.

Today has been a good day. Pretty chill, but productive. I managed to check most things off the list. I did two sextant observations, made some videos, got my workout in, and kept up with the normal sailing routine. One of those days where nothing dramatic happens, but a lot of small things get done. I did feel a bit lower on energy today. My period is about to come, and I can definitely feel it. A little more tired, a little less drive than usual. But honestly, I’m still happy with how the day went. Even without full energy, I still did what I needed to do. I’ve been eating good food, sailing well, and taking care of the boat. Just doing the job, one day at a time. What’s a bit crazy is that I’m starting to see the end of the trip now. It’s beginning to feel real that this crossing won’t last forever. I’m trying not to focus on that too much though. Because the moment I start thinking too much about arrival, I start counting days… and that pulls me away from what I’m actually doing out here. So for now the plan is simple: just stay here, stay present, and keep doing the next small thing that needs to be done. And today, that worked pretty well. 🌊 ⚓ Life on the Showgirl is my journey toward one of the toughest solo sailing races on the planet: the Golden Globe Race — sailed solo, non-stop, and without modern technology. The #Aegean have been mercyless... For #sailor that have never sailed here it's impossible to understand... The wind is 6 knots and bumps up to 37 on a single gust then back to 3 until the next gust of 40... This makes it impossible to set sails, keep a speed, battle the waves...
