Dear Salty Sailor, Fresh water is one of the most precious resources we carry on our sailboat, and access to it can be critical in remote locations. We decided to install a water maker to ‘produce’ our own fresh water, and we couldn’t be happier. Of course, it gave us some challenges (what part of the boat doesn’t, right? xD), but overall, it’s been a huge win. You can check out the entire installation process on our channel. They hired a Venturer 38 power cat and cruised around the islands, going wherever they wanted to go, which the kids loved. They went snorkelling lots, went kayaking and paddle boarding, did lots of walks around the islands, and even played cards and other games, like they hadn't done as a family in years.
