Before our new IMOCA hits the water in less than two months ๐ฐ๏ธ, weโre taking the chance to get the team back racing together, flying across Brittany with Boris at the helm and familiar faces from our Ocean Race crew onboard (including Will Harris ๐). Weโll be taking on the Pโtit Tour around Belle-รle-en-Mer this Saturday, alongside hundreds of boats, strong tides, Atlantic breeze, and what is basically one giant sailing festival ๐ซ๐ทโจ Itโs going to be fast, fun, a little wildโฆ and yes, there will definitely be behind-the-scenes content ๐ ๐ฅ Follow along all weekend for the action onboard Malizia 1 ๐
When the catamaran says โCatch me if you can!โ ๐โต๐ฆ Two slower sailboats get completely splashed โ but everyoneโs laughing! Pure sailing fun right next to the action. #Catamaran #SailingFun #OceanAdventure #BoatLife #WakeSplash #SeaLovers #Sailboats #YachtRacing #WindAndWaves #SailingVibes
Mangroves exist all over the world, however, most of the time the mangroves occupy estuaries and murky bays. Raja Amapt is the exception, many of it's mangroves are in clear blue water and full of lovely coral and unique fish species. Since mangroves only grow in very shallow water, this makes them ideal for snorkeling. Mangroves are a highly unique area to explore as it's an entirely different ecosystem from your typical reefscape. The roots from the mangrove create serpentine structures where a myriad of juvenile fish seek refuge, including baby black tips. One fish you wont see on an ordinary reef is the archer fish. This unassuming little fish swims close to the surface looking for terestrial insects climbing on the roots above water. When it spots one, it takes aim and shoots a precise stream of water at the insect knocking it into the water where it can then devour it. Regardless of the interesting marine life who call the mangroves home, the overall scenery is enough to take your breath away, particualy at that special time of the day when the sun's light pierces the dense canopy above creating a totally surreal environment as you float along in the placid waters.
