Questo due giorni sono un incubo meteorologicamente parlando. Avevamo visto l’arrivo del brutto tempo, per questo siamo volati lungo la Croazia e siamo arrivati in anticipo in Italia. Volevate mica che rischiassimo di bucare il 5 ottobre per il vento????? Fuori discussione. Quindi eccoci qui, vicino a casa, all’ancora, ad aspettare il momento del ritorno e a ripercorrere i passati 362 giorni. Quante miglia, quante esperienze, quanti nuovi amici. Pensate che due di loro verranno a trovarci dalla vecchia e bella Brindisi… li avete già visti in diversi reel 😄 Ma torniamo a noi. Oggi vento e pioggia. Di quelle che quasi ti domandi perché sei ancora all’ancora. Infatti domani ci rifugeremo in un porto qui vicino, perché l’arrivo della bora sarà veramente aggressivo. Test of the hover controller, in particular in yaw direction (multicopter frame, i.e. roll direction in airplane frame). The yaw is stabilized using the flaperons which are in the propeller wash. The flaperon deflections are visible when Chris pokes the kite with the broom. The controller quickly reacts and stabilizes smoothly the yaw angle back to zero. Note that differential propeller directions as used for small multicopter-drones do not offer nearly enough yaw moment for control authority of the kite's inertia or expected wind loads. In addition, such a control scheme greatly reduces the thrust for yaw stabilization. This is why this is not feasible for our system.
