Who's the fastest windsurfer ever? ▫️ We ran a reel recently on the 500m World Sailing Speed Record currently held by Paul Larsen on Sailrocket 2. There are quite a few windsurfers on the list. ▫️ We got quite a few comments asking "where is Bjorn Dunkerbeck?" While he doesn´t hold any 500m sailing records, he has held 3 outright records over a nautical mile and also hit 55.97 knots over a 2 second time gap in 2021. ▫️ So here he is. Rocket Man @DunkerbecksWorld ▫️ Do you reckon you can channel this much power through a 40-centimeter wide board? ▫️ #windsurfing #record
The 52 Super Series is the world’s leading grand prix monohull circuit and a new season gets underway in Menorca. With a record fleet and new boats and sailors this five-event circuit will be gripping. Staying in the Mediterranean we travel to Marseille for the Hempel World Cup Series finale to see who will be stepping onto the podium across 10 Olympic classes. There’s also high drama on Lake Geneva at the Bol d’Or Mirabaud as a storm rips across the course. And The World Sailing Show takes a rare trip underwater in the Seychelles to explore the depths with Nekton Mission which is looking at global environmental data capture. And the million dollar boat race hits New York as SailGP reaches the halfway stage in the battle for sailing’s biggest cash prize.
How to make a new yard, step 1. 😊 This week has included locating, taking down, debarking and preparing timber that will become six new yards on the ship! Heading out on our big expedition to Asia next year, we need to bring spare yards with us, and this week has been very busy at the sawmill outside of Laholm. Once the first processing of the logs has been done, they will be brought back to the workshop in Gothenburg where the work will continue. For the rig enthusiasts: The first log in the video will be an angled mizzan yard (latine yard). The second will be the second half of our main yard. One of the logs will also be our new spritsail yard to replace the one that broke this summer. The current one will go back to being the spare spritsail yard. A big thank you to Södra , SnickarNilsson, JB Riggers and PG Kran AB!
