Dear Salty Sailor, Fresh water is one of the most precious resources we carry on our sailboat, and access to it can be critical in remote locations. We decided to install a water maker to ‘produce’ our own fresh water, and we couldn’t be happier. Of course, it gave us some challenges (what part of the boat doesn’t, right? xD), but overall, it’s been a huge win. You can check out the entire installation process on our channel. Built in 1938 as 'C10' for the admiralty. She was renamed Destiny in 1958 and sold by the MOD in 1963. Since then she has been owned by Husbands Shipyard, Star Tugs and now owned by a South Wales Businessman, she carries his name 'Thomas'.
