We are celebrating two massive milestones this weekend! Not only is it Memorial Day weekend, but it’s officially our 3-year anniversary as a sailing couple. To celebrate, we traded our usual dock for the historic, resilient shores of Galveston Beach, Texas. In this episode, we’re remembering the roots of the island and the holiday. From the solemn Civil War origins of Memorial Day to the Galveston Historic Pleasure Pier, this island is a monument to the human spirit. Of course, no trip to the coast is complete without savoring the lifestyle. One of our favourite places to go in Trinidad is Tucker Valley, in the Chaguaramas peninsular. Filled with jungle trails and waterfalls, it's also home to some old military installations like abandoned Tracking Station. Near Covigne River, there are some old bunkers left over the the US military occupation of the area. #urbanexploration #military #jungle
