We’re taking a "mental health day" away from the 1973 VW Bus restoration! 🚌💨 While we’re saving $12,000 by doing our own repairs, we decided to spend some of that "saved" energy on one of Arizona’s most iconic hikes: Picacho Peak. If you’ve never been, it’s a steep one! Between the Hunter Trail and those famous steel cables, it was quite the workout for this 60-year-old and her boyfriend. It’s important to step away from the project sometimes so you can come back with fresh eyes and a steady hand. Beautiful views, sore legs, and a great day in the Arizona sun. This was my reaction to the first attempt at launching Freddie, after over a week of waiting past the day we were told we would be launched… We put our lives on hold to get her ready and to show up for this, not to mention getting our hopes way up that we would finally see her off land and back where she belongs, in the water… My heart was hurting and I felt frustrated… but tried to focus on positives.
