Shorts skab

Red Sailboat, free sailing Bought second hand in awful condition, restored and put to good use. It came with cotton sails, albeit cut with scissors for reasons unknown (!) Also no boom and no joint to have one. Sails were sewn back, boom was added but somwhow it was too heavy. Leaned too much, cotton caught water and boat capsized. Luckily I found a fiberglass rod from a broken umbrella, and some synthetic fabric for some new sails. This is the first run, tethered

The clove hitch Along with the bowline and the sheet bend, it is often considered one of the most important knots to know. A clove hitch is two successive half-hitches around an object. It is most effectively used as a crossing knot. It can be used as a binding knot, but is not particularly secure in that role (we prefer the constrictor knot for these use cases). A clove hitch made around the rope's own standing part is known as either two half-hitches or buntline hitch, depending on whether the turns of the clove hitch progress away from or towards the hitched object. The Clove Hitch is the simplest and most effective knot for securing your fenders. It can be tied in seconds, is relatively easy to undo which makes it simple enough to adjust the hight as you approach the marina. follow the link below for a full demo. https://youtu.be/q2YetRQGFRM We hope you enjoyed todays bottom up boats know knots shorts video where we showed you the clove hitch in seconds.

“It teaches you how to survive and be a strong person. Sailing makes me appreciate life.” @vuyihlongwa 🫶 For Vuysilie Jaca, sailing has always been more than just a sport. It’s brought adventure, built resilience, and offered a whole new perspective on the world. Her advice? Just give it a go. You won’t regret it. 💙 #SteeringTheCourse #AccelerateAction #WomenInSportFollow World Sailing 🌍⛵️ on: Facebook ➡️ www.facebook.com/worldsailingofficial Instagram ➡️ www.instagram.com/worldsailingofficial Twitter ➡️ www.twitter.com/worldsailing Website ➡️ www.sailing.org Newsletter ➡️ www.sailing.org/newsletter-sign-up
