J109 GTR beating up the shore to stay out of the tide shortly after the start of the Harbour Race of Cork Week 2024. With over 100 boats on the start line everyone was fighting for air shortly after the start, with the tide coming in all day it paid to get right early to find both clear air and some relief from the stronger tide out in the main channel. The skipper on RS 21 Dark and Stormy was not happy with the call as they wanted to head in further, we are glad they tacked when they did as we got down to less the 3 feet under the keel shortly after the tack. Today we’re celebrating 1 year ‘Leading the Escapade’ 🥳 ⛵️ 🗺 It was 1 year ago that our boat was being lifted into the water and we we’re absolutely sh*tting ourselves, not even knowing how to start the motor We’ve come a LONG way since that day, it’s been a whirlwind of a year…a new lifestyle, new career and new outlook on life 😍 So many up’s and downs, lessons and milestones, the best decision we ever made and even though there’s always pro’s and con’s we wouldn’t change any of it for the world 🌍 We’ve made some great new friends and received so much generous support from our Patron’s and kind comments from our YouTube community We’ve travelled over 2500 nautical miles the past year through 5 countries and Sailed all of winter bar 1 month ✅ follow our voyage around the world
