We're leaving Scawfell Island and setting off on a 120 nautical mile journey to Island Head Creek.. Normally, we’d stop and explore the islands along the way but this time, we’ve got a short weather window to make it south, so we’re sailing non-stop, all day and all night, before eventually moving on to the Keppel Islands. So come aboard and see what it’s really like to live on a sailboat - as we’ve kept this video as real and as raw as possible! 🐠 Become a Patreon + help save the ocean 🌊👇 https://www.patreon.com/c/SailingAmi 0:00 - Welcome Aboard! 0:34 - Navigating from Scawfell to Island Head Creek 3:29 - Sunset Sailing & Night Watch Under the Stars 5:15 - Sunrise with Dolphins: A Perfect Sailing Moment 7:12 - Island Head Creek: Coconut Hunting on the Water 11:04 - Mangrove Mudcrabs: Exploring Coastal Wildlife 13:03 - Hoisting Sails: Leaving Island Head Creek Behind 14:17 - Processing Fresh Coconuts Aboard the Sailboat 15:57 - “Lure On My Croch!” 17:46 - Galley Girls: Life in the Sailboat Kitchen 20:00 - Sunset Extravaganza: Sailing into Golden Hour 22:24 - Boat Jump: Water Fun on the High Seas 23:14 - Keppel Island Mangroves: Shoreline Exploration 25:00 - Island Footsteps: Hiking & Discovering 29:00 - Next Week’s Voyage: What’s Ahead on Sailing Ami #BoatLife #TruthAboutSailing #OffGridLife #UnfilteredLife #TinyHomeOnWater
This knot is called a round turn and two half hitches. And the round turn of two half hitches is a fantastic knot for tying on fenders. This is a short lesson from our Catamaran sailing Masterclass knot tying lesson. http://masterclass.nautilussailing.com It's also a great knot for tying your dinghy up to a piling. So here are the steps to do a round turn and two half hitches. You go all the way around your stanchion or the dock post, leave quite a bit of tail. So there's our round turn we like to go over and you come back through that triangle, tighten it up, and the second time we come under. And then back over and that tightens it up. And that's a clean looking round turn, two half hitches. And you can see how that is a real strong, solid knot that's gonna hold your fenders or your dinghy to a dock.
