Alfred Mylne may have peaked when he designed the River Class over 100 years ago. The beautify old ladies of the lough make the Bottom Up Boats crew smile every time we glide by them on the race course. Her lines are timeless with her big boom holding out a main that powers her along in any conditions. J109 Going to Red was tacking in close quarters to the shore shortly after the start of the harbour race of Volvo Cork week 2024. With the tide rushing into Cork Harbour it paid to stick to the right to get relief from the in rushing tide. There are a couple of close crosses as the majority of the fleet tried to maximise the relief they got.
