IC36 Independent Catamaran showing her moves! ▫️ 📷 @independentcatamaran ▫️ Contact info@katamarans.com for more info. ▫️ 1.4 times faster than the wind thanks to low hydrodynamic resistance below the waterline, with a narrow hull profile and low displacement. ▫️ Rotating mast moved further aft and high displacement bows offer high top-end speed with reduced pitching. ▫️ Carbon compression beam extends forwards to carbon asymmetric bowsprit. High-tech equipment that contributes to the performance. ▫️ Light-weight carbon-fibre rig – built to a high standard for safety whilst delivering high performance. Light composite stays support the mast, along with Facnor furlers all contribute to a boat that combines good performance and ease of handling. ▫️ Electrically powered, the IC36 can be dismantled for ease of transportation. ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ #multihulls #sailing #catamarans #multihull #multiplast #speedmachine #performancecatamarans #electric #katamarans
It’s been a bit quite. I’ve been really sick, as you can hear in this video😅 but here is one of my latest projects, not finished but hey… you gotta start somewhere! Little back story, I’ve had this huge solar panel sitting in my living area for over 2 months now, not connected just in my way. So I decided it’s time to get it installed but mounting on the canvas roof without damaging the canvas seems tricky, so I decided to build a hard top out of plywood and fiberglass and fit it onto the frame. Means I can easily mount the solar panel and other stuff like outdoor light and more fairy lights ✨ Thanks for the help As a complete newbie to the sailing world, I had no idea where to start my liveaboard life and I had so much to learn. But first things first. I bought a sailboat, an old wooden ex fishing boat, build for rough seas, 40 ft long and over 15t heavy. But before the sailing life begins I have to do a lot of work, from re caulking to placing planks and wood rot, repainting and anti fouling as well as turning the whole inside into a beautiful homely living space. Come along and help me figure out how to live on a boat and how to sail.
