My nervous laugh about shooting the gap is classic! Jim and I have very much learned to sail through trial and error, in fact neither of us had ever been on a sailboat prior to Chuffed. We wouldn't begin to claim we are 'good sailors', we are however safe sailors and are slowly dialing in little tricks with Chuffed to get more speed or comfort out of her. It was all plan sailing until the skipper forgot to duck. The speed at which the boom crosses the boat during a gybe makes it a dangerous weapon. This video should be a reminder to everyone to stay safe and to remember to duck when gybing a boat. Luckily no one was hurt other than the skippers pride, he dusted himself off and raced on. No segundo dia de regatas da Semana de Vela de Ilhabela, os velejadores que finalizaram a prova foram brindados com uma chegada especial: todos os tripulantes puderam se refrescar com aquela Corona gelada! A 48ª edição Semana Internacional de Vela de Ilhabela acontece entre os dias 24 e 31 de julho de 2021, no Yacht Club de Ilhabela (YCI), no litoral norte paulista. O grande encontro da modalidade conta com 80 barcos das principais classes de vela oceânica, como ORC, RGS, Mini Transat, Multicasco, Bico de Proa, Clássicos, C30 e HPE25. E, pela primeira vez, reúne regatas presenciais e virtuais, com as provas online feitas pelo aplicativo Virtual Regatta Inshore.
