After more than twenty years in active naval service, she was sold to the United Arab Emirates in 1998 and renamed Al Emarat (F 02), continuing her military duties until her retirement in 2006. Following her decommissioning, the ship embarked on a transformation at ADM Shipyards in Abu Dhabi that was completed in 2015, emerging as Yas, a 5,002 GT superyacht distinguished by her dolphin-inspired profile and futuristic glass-domed superstructure conceived by Pierrejean Design Studio.
