Have you ever wondered how and why we apply the flecks of colour you see on our floor? On traditional flowcoat floors, fleck provides much needed grip to what would be an otherwise slippery surface. On our modern moulded floors, the grip is provided by our 'non-skid' pattern and the fleck is just there for it's good looks! It is the first thing we apply to the mould. Each colour is carefully sprinkled with a spray gun to ensure an even application before the next solid binding layer of gelcoat and in this case the customer's choice of Storm Grey. It may look bumpy on the mould, but it'll come out looking silky smooth when we pop this part. Seacocks are bronze valves in a boat and are used as a safety measure for closing off holes below the water line and keeping water out of the boat for either maintenance or emergencies. We have 4 total on Seawind, and one of them has been giving us trouble for the past couple of years. I cleaned and greased this particular seacock, and ever since, it’s seeped a bit of water into the boat. The only way I could stop the leak was to tighten the valve so much that I couldn’t turn the handle! Live right now for our patrons AD FREE is EP. 55 of Sailing Seawind! We take you through the process of lapping a seacock, Katy tackles some projects of her own, and so much more! This early live viewing each week can be available to you over on our Patreon! Skyler is the third unit of the Benetti Fast range, equipped with an AZP C65 propulsion system, the most technologically advanced on the market, and will be delivered to her owner in June 2017. With a length of 38.1m and a beam of 8.3m, built in composites and carbon in Benetti’s Viareggio shipyard, the Fast 125’ is a four deck semi-wide body yacht with a total of 5 cabins. The sporty exterior was designed by Stefano Righini using an expanse of horizontal windows to accentuate the yacht’s streamlined look. Another key feature is a remarkable central element in the side of the superstructure that covers the access stairway to the upper deck. Her luxurious interior was designed by Redman Whiteley Dixon, based on the “Air” configuration, one of the three interior style options that Benetti offers to their Fast 125’ owners. The owner, an experienced yachtsman, requested many custom touches such as widespread use of loose furniture from famous design brands such as Glyn Peter Machin, Sutherland, Minotti and Meridiani. http://benettiyachts.it/benetti-presents-fast-125-my-skyler/
